Ħamrun Spartans were back at the top Closing Round while Floriana battled past Marsaxlokk as the 360 Sports Malta Premier continued last weekend.
Birkirkara and Hibernians maintained their winning momentum while Balzan gave new coach Andrew Cohen a winning start on Monday.

Żabbar St. Patrick FC (0 – 1) Ħamrun Spartans FC
The Spartans needed a first-half goal from Cesar Menacho to overcome a resilient Żabbar St Patrick side at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
It was a hard-fought victory for the Spartans who have now returned to the top of the standings on 11 points, one ahead of Floriana.
Floriana FC (2 – 1) Marsaxlokk FC
Floriana had to dig deep into their reserves to overcome Marsaxlokk at a damp Tony Bezzina Stadium.
The match was delayed due to a waterlogged pitch but once action started it turned out to be a hard-fought encounter.
Floriana took the lead courtesy of Gonzalo Gamarra free-kick. But Marsaxlokk fought back and thought they had done enough to take a point when Lopez levelled matters.
But Floriana had the final say with Matias Garcia firing home the winner four minutes from time.
Birkirkara FC (2 – 0) Mosta FC
Birkirkara produced a strong performance to overcome Mosta 2-0.
Alex Satariano put Birkirkara ahead with a fine strike before Paul Mbong sealed the point with a tap-in strike in the second half.
Mosta finished the match with ten men when Joao Teixeira was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Gżira United FC (1 – 4) Hibernians FC
Hibernians came back from a goal down to see off Gżira United.
The Maroons put on a spirited display as despite having Luis Riascos dismissed on 41 minutes they still managed to go ahead courtesy of Faysal Chouaib penalty.
But after the break, Hibernians stepped up a gear and Kevin Fraga pull them level on 50 minutes before Luis Villela made it 2-1 three minutes later.
Bjorn Kristensen extended Hibernians’ lead before Alex Bruno sealed the points late on.
Melita FC (2 – 4) Sliema Wanderers FC
Sliema Wanderers proved too strong for Melita as they cruised to a 4-2 win.
Mohammed Awad grabbed a first-half brace to put the Wanderers in control before Gustavo Alcino made it 3-0.
Santi Martinez pulled a goal back for Melita but their hopes of a fightback were ended by Kyrian Nwoko.
Melita pulled a second goal back in stoppage time courtesy of an Andre penalty.
Naxxar Lions FC (0 – 3) Balzan FC
Balzan picked up their second win of the season on Andrew Cohen’s debut as new coach.
The Reds were the better side against the bottom-placed Naxxar with Udo Akpan firing them ahead.
Jan Busuttil made it 2-0 before setting up Luka Lukovic who sealed Balzan’s win.
