The Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) are a biennial multi-sport event, which originated from the idea of Bertie Muscat, a former member of the Maltese Olympic Committee Executive, in 1981.
The Games came into fruition in 1985, when the first Games were hosted by San Marino.
This year the event will be taking place in Malta’s capital, Valletta, from 28 May to 3 June 2023.
Malta previously hosted the 1993 and 2003 editions of the Game.
