Matilda the Musical is being staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre
Matilda, the musical, was originally meant to be staged in 2020 but covid-19 restrictions put those plans on hold. The curtain finally went up on the musical based on the Roald Dahl novel last weekend, and from the second the lights went on the energy was electric!
From ‘Amadeus’ to ’13’ to ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ Masquerade are no strangers to musical theatre and expectations were most definitely high after a two year wait. anthony bezzina directs a stellar cast, including well known actors such as Thomas Camilleri, Rachel Fabri, Alan Paris and Katherine Brown all giving us outstanding performances and taking the audience on a magical 2.5 hour journey; but that’s not all. The singing, choreography, set design and special effects are all on point giving the cast and all involved a deserving standing ovation at the end of the show!
The stars of the show are most definitely the kids, who are clearly loving every second on stage, and if this is a glimpse into the future of theatre in Malta we are definitely going to be in good hands!
The show runs through to the end of the month, and tickets can be purchased via showshappening.com
