Stephanie Buttigieg shares a day in the life as a Cambridge student.
Stephanie starts by saying “There isn’t a single thing I do not love about Cambridge so far!”
One of her favourite things to do is cycle in between one lecture and another in the very streets people like Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin used to walk down.
A typical day for Stephanie would consist of attending lectures in the morning and then going home to make some lunch before heading to the library or a café to get some work done.
Stephanie is studying the MASt in Astrophysics course which involves courses covering from particle physics to cosmology and black holes.
One of the only downsides of being a student at the University of Cambridge means that lectures take place on Saturdays too!
Buttigieg also adds that the most challenging thing so far is the lack of women and non-binary people there.
Evenings are a lot of fun at the moment because of freshers’ week.
That means she gets to enjoy going to the formal hall to eat dinner in the very old college hall, which looks as cool as the one in the Harry Potter movies!
Stephanie told Vibe, “If there was one thing I could say to my past self is that all those long study sessions are worth it. I do feel extremely lucky to have ended up at Cambridge, especially coming from such a small country, but at the same time I’m proud of myself. I know that this would not have been possible without all the hard work I’ve put in throughout my education.”
We wish Buttigieg all the very best and can’t wait to see what she ends up working on!
