NASA have released a new breathtaking video of Mars!
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured footage depicting the Aram Chaos, a volcanic terrain inside an ancient and massive 280km diameter crater.
The terrain is simply mesmerizing and chaotic which comes from the name itself.
It is modified by several different processes including water.
The terrain even has steep rocky slopes and dried up creeks.
The 3 minute video showcases its rumpled and disordered surface, formed by molten rocks and water moving beneath the surface.
To capture Mars they used the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment or HIRISE for short.
HIRISE is the most powerful camera ever sent to space.
It’s massive telescopic lens can capture the smallest objects, like a kitchen table.
The 4k camera works at multiple visible wavelengths and is equipped with a unique colour filter made up of red, green and blue colours.
The colour blue represents one of the origins of the Aram Chaos, Basalt.
Scientists will hope to uncover more clues about the chances of life on the planet in the past and future.
Prepare to be mind-blown by this epic extraterrestrial visual feast! 🚀🔥
