Civil Protection Malta stands shoulder to shoulder with European partners.
For more than 60 hours, firefighters from Civil Protection Malta have been working tirelessly in Portugal to help contain a devastating wildfire in Vale de Cerdeira.
Deployed under the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Mechanism’s Pre-Positioning Programme, the Maltese crew is working side by side with the Força Especial de Proteção Civil.
The mission highlights the power of cooperation in moments of crisis. Maltese and Portuguese firefighters have been battling intense flames, often in difficult terrain, to protect both lives and the environment.
Their dedication shows how European solidarity extends beyond borders. When disaster strikes, countries step in not only with resources but with courage, resilience, and a shared sense of responsibility.
