It is no longer the most wonderful time of the year and we all have different reactions to it.
Last year (yes, I went there) we talked about the different type of Maltese people during Christmas time, now let’s talk about the different types of Maltese people once the holiday season comes to an end.
Now that the first week of January is basically over it is time to analyse the different type of people we’ve seen so far.
The one who is living in denial
These people refuse to believe that Christmas is over.
They don’t want to take down their Christmas tree and it will most likely still be there until the beginning of March.
Christmas tunes are still playing in the background as they sob silently remembering how long they have to wait for next December.
They also took the first few days of January off from work just to cherish what is left of the Christmas spirit.
The Sleepyhead
This person just can’t seem to get back into routine and you’ll recognise them from their bedhead.
They’re struggling to wake up after partying so hard all throughout the holidays.
Their alarm clock seems to be waking up everyone but them!
The Accountant
After a whole month of spending recklessly, it’s time to face the music.
These people are just now realising how broke they really are and the New Year is their sign to budget.
They’ll order less takeout and start to save up more until they get back on their feet.
The one with the new lifestyle
These guys have a new-found love for well being, whether it is going to the gym, starting yoga, eating clean, looking after their mental health or literally anything else.
They’re set to becoming the best version of themselves.
Not everyone sticks to it and thats fine! You don’t need the New Year to start you can start whenever you’re ready.
However, if you do manage to upkeep this new lifestyle of yours and reach your goals, we’re proud of you!
The kid
These kids aren’t too bothered that it is the New Year and are probably more bothered by the fact that school is about to start.
They’re putting their hours in playing video games and hanging out with their friends before they head back to their usual routine.
The Grinch
They’re making a return for this one.
The Grinches are just so glad the holiday season is over and they can go back to not overspending and not being blinded by the Christmas lights everywhere they go.
They’re the first to take down the decorations and they tend to get mad if they hear one more Christmas song.
The ones on a plane
December was a dream for them!
Experiencing snow and Christmas villages… and now they’re on their way back to reality.
A very sunny reality.
The reality will hit them so hard they end up booking another flight to somewhere even colder than the last place they been to.
The newly engaged
No better time than to pop the question during the holidays, am I right?
Well you and a billion others tend to think so.
All we can do is be happy for them and wonder if that will ever be us.
The University student
Send your thoughts and prayers their way, they’re struggling.
You think you’re upset the holiday season is over? These guys didn’t even get a chance to catch a break!
In fact they’re probably feeling pretty burned out right now, so let them know you’re there for them and bring them some snacks if you could.
The workaholic
No one is excited as much as they are to go back to their routine.
They love their job so much, it satisfies them more than any holiday season would!
