The new season is coming to Netflix this Wednesday!
It’s been two long years waiting for the next season of The Crown.
The fifth season is going to be available on Netflix on Wednesday.

Here are five facts about the upcoming season:
The fifth season of The Crown will be spread across ten episodes just like the previous four.
This will be the penultimate season of The Crown.
We already know that Season 6 (which has no official release date) will be the last.
The series tackles the 90s decade.
One of the main focuses of the plot will be the relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
Queen Elizabeth had previously referred to 1992 as “annus horribiis”. This was the year that saw multiple royal marriages break down and a series of scandals.
The iconic revenge dress worn by Diana will be making an appearance!
She had worn this dress on the same day that Prince Charles had publicly admitted he was having an affair.

It’s not all real!
Despite the similarities and the real life inspiration Netflix has added a disclaimer saying the series is fictional dramatisation.
An all new cast features in the series.
This includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth (who we’ve seen as Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter).
Jonathan Pryce (aka High Sparrow in Game of Thrones) portrays Prince Philip.
