The 2025 National Beach Soccer Championship is set for an electrifying conclusion as Ħamrun SC and Sliema Beach Soccer secured their places in the men’s final after impressive semi-final victories.
Ħamrun SC Dominate to Defend Their Crown
Defending champions Ħamrun SC demonstrated their class and intent with a commanding 8-2 win over WA Agency. Despite an early setback when Dylan Musú put WA Agency ahead, Ħamrun quickly responded through Joshua Olejabi. Tobi Hakiti then gave Ħamrun the lead, and from there, Joel Winters’ side never looked back.
Hakiti was the star of the show, completing a hat-trick, while Nezar Abouaisha netted twice. Further goals from JP Zammit and Kyle Bartolo sealed the victory. WA Agency managed a consolation through Essa Salem, but the result was never in doubt. The match was officiated by Andrea Naudi and Stephen Vella.
Sliema Edge Past La Playa de Arena in a Thriller
Sliema Beach Soccer faced a much sterner test against last year’s finalists, La Playa de Arena. In a nail-biting encounter, Sliema emerged 5-4 winners. The match was closely contested throughout, with both teams displaying attacking flair and defensive resilience. Ultimately, Sliema’s consistency and composure under pressure saw them through to the final, where they will face Ħamrun SC in what promises to be a spectacular showdown.
Swieqi United and St George’s to Clash in Women’s Beach Soccer Final
Swieqi United have been the team to beat this season, maintaining a perfect record throughout the tournament. In the semi-final, they delivered a dominant display to defeat Parr Mela 6-1. Michela Felice was in scintillating form, grabbing a hat-trick, while Marie Oliveira added a brace and Amy Abdilla also found the net. Isabella Otero scored the only goal for Parr Mela. The match was overseen by referees Stefania Bonnici and Stephen Vella.
St George’s Prevail in High-Scoring Battle
In the other semi-final, St George’s came out on top in a goal-filled encounter against Zero Sei, winning 8-6. Liliana Coherte netted twice, with Kirsty Paris, Shakira Bugeja, Laury Carrasco, Estephany Colomenarez, Jeanelle Falzon, and Audrey Chetcuti all contributing a goal each. For Zero Sei, Rocio Robles, Demi Gauci, and Juciela Vale each scored twice, but it wasn’t enough to overturn St George’s advantage. Stefania Bonnici and Andrea Naudi officiated the match.
