The earthquakes have dominated the headlines, and you can do something to help!
The Civil Protection Department is collecting various items to help those affected by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
Throughout today the Ħal Far Fire Station will be collecting the below items:
New or unused clothes for adults and children
All sorts of clothing are needed from coats to raincoats to boots, socks and underwear.
Sweatshirts, trousers, gloves and scarves are also very much needed.
Food and Sanitaries
The Civil Protection Department is also collecting Tins and packets of food, also including baby food.
There is also a need for sanitary products for both men and women, and also diapers.
Other items
There is also a big need for tents, campbeds, camp mattresses and sleeping bags.
Heaters (without fuel), torches, batteries and power-packs, and generators are also required.
Malta has already sent members of the Civil Protection Department to Turkey.
The 32-strong rescue team is assisting in searches and helping rescue workers from all around Europe in the rescue efforts.
Others are also already on standby to join if necessary.
