Millie Bobby Brown announced her engagement to her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi, in April this year.
After having only dated since 2021 and the two of them being so young, their engagement may have come as a surprise.
This however wasn’t the case for Millie who knew Jake was the one after their first conversation.
Millie said she “was interested in him and wanted to know more. As soon as we spoke I knew he was going to be a huge part of my life”.
She even ran to tell her mum “I really, really like him!”.
The feeling was mutual and after the two of them met they knew they never wanted to leave each other’s side.
One may be wondering how they can tell whether someone is the one or not?
While Millie herself doesn’t know the exact thing to look for when looking for the one, she does know the feeling you get when you meet that person.
“You can’t pinpoint why, it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with”, she said.
She also added “I think so much of life is overthinking. The one thing that made clear sense to me was him.”
Jake proposed to Millie using one of her mother’s rings.
“I’ve always loved that ring,” she said in reference to her mother’s ring.
She elaborated, “It’s always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake. They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me.”
Millie used a lyric from Taylor Swift’s song ‘Lover’ to announce their engagement on her Instagram.
Millie has also shared that both her and Jake’s parents have been very supportive.
“My parents adore him,” she stated. “My parents were young when they got together, so I always had amazing role models for relationships.”
She has also spoken positively about her future in-laws saying she is “really grateful to be a part of their world.”
