JA Malta’s ‘Leaders for a Day’ Initiative Breaks Records with Unprecedented Participation

JA Malta proudly celebrates the success of this year’s ‘Leaders for a Day’ initiative, an annual event that provides students with a unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of top executives and industry professionals. This year’s edition set new records, with over 160 students participating and 47 companies opening their doors to Malta’s future leaders.

As a key component of the JA Malta Company Programme — formerly known as Young Enterprise — this initiative bridges the gap between education and the workplace, providing students with first-hand exposure to leadership roles across various industries. Through job-shadowing experiences, participants gained invaluable insights into decision-making, business operations, and the professional world.

Both students and business leaders praised the initiative for its impact. One student shared, “I got first-hand experience, which I really appreciated. Apart from learning accounts at school, this job-shadowing put my studies into action.” Another participant added, “It was a very hands-on experience that gave me a real-world perspective on the industry.”

For companies, this initiative is not only an opportunity to mentor young talent but also a way to contribute to the future of business in Malta. A participating executive remarked, “Showing young people how we do things in our company is a critical aspect for business in general and their forthcoming career dreams.” Another leader emphasized the value of the programme, stating, “We hope we can assist with this initiative again. We really believe that this is a value-adding experience!”

JA Malta extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating companies for their commitment to nurturing young talent and inspiring the next generation of business leaders. Their involvement ensures that students receive meaningful, practical learning experiences that shape their future career aspirations.

With the continued success of ‘Leaders for a Day,’ JA Malta looks forward to welcoming even more students and companies to next year’s edition. Those interested in participating in 2026 are encouraged to get in touch to secure their spot in this transformative programme.
