Life in the Doghouse – Written during recovery. Inspired by dogs. Giving back with every copy sold.
A brand new children’s book written in Malta is doing more than telling a story. It’s raising funds for local dog shelters. Life in the Doghouse is a sweet tale based on island life with dogs—and it supports animals in need.
A Story Born From Recovery—and a Whole Lot of Love for Dogs
After suffering a stroke in 2024, author Myron Saacks turned to creativity as part of his healing process. What came out of it was Life in the Doghouse—a Maltese children’s book that captures life on the island with dogs, while also shining a light on the importance of compassion, community, and second chances.
But here’s the best part: 100% of the book’s proceeds will go towards supporting animal shelters and sanctuaries across Malta—providing food, blankets, and supplies for the dogs and animals that need it most.
“Even if I sell zero books, I’m proud—I’m now part of the 0.002% of people who have published one. But if we do manage to sell some, we’ll be helping the animals who need us most.”
