Thrift shops are exploding into the fashion scene lately as many go for second hand and sustainable clothing.
Clothes in thrift shops cost far less, are available in different styles, and you can often find popular vintage.
The same applies for Malta, where there are many thrift shops to find and help you style yourself.
Here are some of them.
Thrift MT
This is the latest thrift shop to open physically, and is a collaboration with Mad Culture, located in Haz Zabbar.
It aims at promoting sustainability by reinvigorating a distinctive and diverse fashion style.
The shop’s stock arrives weekly and it is open Tuesday through Saturday between 10:00-18:00.
Thrifties Vintage Clothing Store

Located close to Naxxar Square, this store offers vintage clothing from the 60s till the 2010s.
It suits any style and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30-17:30.
MSPCA Charity Shops
Set up by volunteers, these charity shops provide second-hand clothing and their stock is continuously updated.
With every purchase you make, you also donate to animal welfare.
The shops are located in Naxxar, San Gwann, and Sliema.
Vogue XChange
One of the few thrift shops on the sister island, it promotes reuse, reduction, and upcycling with its clothing style.
They also do a clothing swap once every month where the clothes you get are exchanged for tokens.
You can find it in Victoria Gozo and it is open every day.
THRIFT by Alternative
Situated in a hairdressing salon in Birkirkara, retro clothing is available here.
The interior design of the shop is also a dream for hipsters and is open from 10:00 till 19:00 on Tuesdays till Fridays.
HUGS
This small charity shop in Mosta sells a wide range of second hand and refurbished clothes.
Public donations go to many organisations that need support.
Thrift Chics
This online store only offers second hand female clothing with an emphasis at reaching sustainability.
Cekcik
In the heart of the capital city Valletta, there is Cekcik where it sells colourful and local second hand clothing.
You will also find some of the most vintage and aesthetically pleasing accessories you will find.
These range from furniture, bags, antiques, ceramics and grinders.
Give and Take by Inspire
These charity shops run by the Inspire Foundation sell clothes at a low price and in decent condition.
The generated income from sales is sent directly to the foundation’s programmes that offer services to children and adults with disabilities.
Three are located in Malta at Hamrun, Marsascala, and Hal Qormi and the fourth in Victoria, Gozo.
