The Malta Esports Association, with the support of GamingMalta Foundation, has officially launched the first-ever Malta Esports Awards! This groundbreaking event is set to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Malta’s thriving esports community, honoring the players, teams, and contributors making waves both locally and internationally.

For years, Malta’s esports stars have worked tirelessly to level up their skills, but a platform to celebrate their achievements was missing. The Malta Esports Awards 2024 are here to change that. The event will recognize not only the competitive achievements of our top players but also the unsung heroes behind the scenes — from mentors and content creators to those growing the local esports scene.

The Award Categories
This year’s Malta Esports Awards will feature 11 exciting categories to cover all areas of competitive gaming:
- Esports Player of the Year – Recognizing Malta’s top esports athlete of 2024.
- Esports Team of the Year – Celebrating teams with at least 50% Maltese players achieving international success.
- Rookie Player of the Year – Highlighting outstanding players under 21.
- Female Player of the Year – Honoring the best female gamer in the local scene.
- Shooter Player of the Year – For excellence in shooting games.
- Sim-Racing Driver of the Year – Celebrating the best in virtual motorsport.
- Sports Simulation Player of the Year – Recognizing players excelling in sports video games.
- MOBA Player of the Year – Honoring Malta’s top Multiplayer Online Battle Arena performer.
- Fighting Game Player of the Year – For competitors dominating titles like Tekken and Street Fighter.
- RPG Player of the Year – Highlighting achievements in role-playing games.
- Outstanding Contribution to Maltese Esports – For those pushing the local scene forward through mentorship, content creation, or ambassadorship.
How It Works
To be eligible, nominees must be Maltese citizens or permanent residents living in Malta for at least five years. A panel of judges will evaluate achievements based on local competition results, international representation, and contributions to the community.
