Met Gala 2024: From Zendaya’s Stunner to Cardi’s Bold Choice & Lizzo’s Look That Left Us Split
The 2024 Met Gala, themed “Garden of Time: A Fashion Odyssey Through the Ages,” promised a night of historical fashion reimaginings. So here’s a look at celebrities who stole the show – for better or worse!
Best Dressed:
Zendaya
She stunned in a Maison Margiela gown inspired by a classic Dior design. Zendaya’s dramatic one-shoulder dress featured flowing blue and green stripes, adorned with fruit embellishments and as well as a dramatic feathered fascinator.
Cardi B
She’s known for her bold red carpet choices and she didn’t disappoint at the Met Gala. She opted for a dramatic black Giambattista Valli gown which set herself apart from the crowd.
Demi Moore
She turned heads at the Met Gala in a breathtaking Harris Reed gown. The dress had a vintage silk panel with 11,000 hours of embroidery, symbolising a flower’s bloom and decay as well as hand-painted chiffon petals completing the dramatic look.
Worst Dressed
Cara Delevigne
She donned a Stella McCartney ensemble featuring body armour and a maxi skirt. However, her look sparked comparisons to Patsy from Monty Python and we’re wondering if it was a bold choice or a way to hide a bad hair day.
Lizzo
Her bizarre, corseted Weinsanto gown that was meant to resemble a tree was criticised as looking like “an upside-down mushroom” or “a tapeworm”.
Lea Michele
The only good part about her dress is the tulle cape. On the other hand, the randomly placed flowers make the outfit look cheap.
