Musicians commit themselves 100% to their songs and are proud to what they put out to the masses.
There are some musicians who hate their own songs that they released.
Here are some of these musicians that dislike their songs.
Miley Cyrus – Party In The USA
America surely partied when the musician’s tune was released in 2009, but she has other feelings about it.
She appreciated it, but not one that represents her as an artist.
Miley concluded by saying she didn’t want her voice to sound like that.
Kanye West- Gold Digger
Kanye never appreciated this 2005 track with Jamie Foxx and only recorded it because he knew he would get tons of money.
That proved to be true as it was hugely successful financially and in his career.
It was the fastest-selling downloaded single of all time and won two Grammys the following year.
Nicki Minaj – Starships
On New Years Eve 2013, Nicki stopped singing Starships seconds in whilst performing at E11EVEN, a Miami nightclub.
She announced that she would not sing it publicly anymore as she found it stupid.
Seven years later during an interview with Pollstar Live, she regretted releasing it, and questioned herself about why she even did it.
Brian May- Don’t Stop Me Now
This is one of Queen’s most feel-good and memorable tunes but guitarist Brian May disliked it at first.
Many believe it captures Freddy’s wild lifestyle which May said was unrestrained entertainment.
Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl
Perry feels that her 2008 hit features stereotypes that prompt her to rewrite it if she had the chance.
In her 2018 interview with Glamour, she said that a lot has changed since its release.
Bisexuality was not a discussion topic back then.
James Blunt – You’re Beautiful
The 2005 single became the British artist’s biggest success to date.
James however thinks it has been overplayed and is doubtful that people find him annoying just like the the anthem.
In a 2014 interview, he reaffirmed those words and said that it forcefully pushed down people’s throats.
Lorde – Royals
Royals might have put the New Zealand artist on the music map but she has compared it to a 2006 Nokia mobile.
She mentioned of listening to several people covering it and making it their own.
The only one she doesn’t listen to is her own as she hates its melody and tone.
Thom Yorke – Creep
1992’s Creep was Radiohead’s debut single and widely considered their magnum opus.
Lead singer Thom Yorke and the rest of the band didn’t think so as it only took months for the band to struggle with performing it live.
He even occasionally called it ‘crap’ and felt that the band needed to move on from it as they nearly broke up.
Creep is very rarely on their setlist whilst touring internationally.
Madonna – Like a Virgin
Like a Virgin is one of Madonna’s signature tunes but the artist herself isn’t a fan.
The Queen of Pop has significantly changed, and wouldn’t return to singing it unless she is paid millions to do so.
She also wants to stick with her recently released tracks instead of her old ones like this, and Material Girl.
Liam Gallagher- Wonderwall
Wonderwall is Oasis’ most recognised tune by fans and non-fans alike.
The lead singer, Liam Gallagher, can barely listen to it.
While promoting his album’s release Dig Out Your Soul, he was relieved there was no Wonderwall.
He said that he hates being associated with the song and also feels like he wants to vomit whenever it’s mentioned.
