Celebrities date or marry their partners. However, sometimes their partners have no clue who they are dating or mistake them for someone else.
Here are some well-known partners who had no idea they were dating a celebrity.
Camila Alves
The Brazilian model is the wife of Oscar winning and well known actor Matthew McConaughey.
They met in a bar in 2006, where she didn’t recognise him because he had a long beard and was wearing a strange hat.
She only realised who he was as he was near one of his closest friends Lance Armstrong, a former cyclist.
They married in 2012 after six years together and have been in love ever since.
Lily Allen
The English singer met her husband David Harbour on a dating app called Raya in 2019.
She thought he was a handsome policeman from a reality show.
The picture was a still of his role as Officer Jim Hopper on Stranger Things where everyone knows him from.
Cordae
The American rapper met his partner Naomi Osaka in 2019 at an LA Clippers basketball game.
He had no clue that she was the world number one tennis player and the first Asian to do so.
He had little knowledge about tennis and became immersed thanks to Naomi.
They recently welcomed Shai, their first child.
Danielle Jonas
It all started in 2007 when Danielle met her husband Kevin on a family vacation in the Bahamas.
Kevin is 1/3 of the Jonas Brothers and Danielle knew nothing of the brotherly band.
They married two years later with Kevin’s brothers serving as his best men, raising two daughters together.
Tom Pelphrey
The Emmy award-winning actor dated Kaley Cuoco in May 2022.
At a family event, his mom’s partner kept calling Kaley Penny, the character she plays on The Big Bang Theory which she is known for.
He had not seen Kaley in any roles as he lived in an isolated apartment in New York with limited Wi-Fi.
Tom watched a few episodes, and found her outstanding in the role.
Their daughter was born in March this year.
Nadine Cera
Nadine is the wife of Michael Cera, known for playing main roles as awkward characters in Superbad, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World and Barbie.
They both met in Paris whilst Michael promoted his comedy series Arrested Development.
Nadine thought Michael was Swedish until they started talking.
Michael said that he felt very lucky that Nadine talked to him as they wouldn’t develop a strong relationship and raise a son together.
Serena Williams
When meeting for the first time in a hotel in Rome, Serena had no clue who Alexis Ohanian was and the famous social media site he owned.
He co-founded Reddit, and Alexis had to know who Serena was.
Serena is one of the greatest female players to grace tennis and Alexis never watched a game on television or in real life.
In 2016, they announced their engagement on Reddit, and married a year later with their daughter Alexis born that same year.
