Last weekend, Somerset once again attracted thousands of partygoers to the UK’s most popular music festival, Glastonbury.
From spectacular performances on stage, surprise guests and crowds soaring to the festival, here are some of the best moments that happened.
The mystery band called “The Churnups” turned out to be The Foo Fighters sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Dave Grohl, the band’s leader admitted to the crowd that they are terrible at keeping secrets.
Dave Grohl and his band played their signature hits like The Pretender, All My Life and Best of You.
Josh Freeze made his debut as the band’s new drummer following Taylor Hawkins’ sudden passing.
The two-time Academy Award winning actress Cate Blanchett appeared on stage with pop rock duo Sparks for their song “The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte.”
Arctic Monkeys headlined the Pyramid stage on Friday night.
This was their third time at the festival, and they looked confident than ever.
They teared up the stage with many fan favourites, and new songs from their latest album The Car.
There were many famous guests watching from the stands including former Beatle Paul McCartney.
There was speculation whether Lewis Capaldi would perform or not.
He cancelled all of his performances prior to the festival due to his mental health.
Lewis soldiered on, but struggled with his tics because of Tourette’s Syndrome.
While performing his biggest hit Someone You Love, the crowd stood behind him and sang the song, leaving Capaldi almost crying.
Lizzo and Lil Nas X on the other hand got the party rolling and brought dancing vibes to the festival.
Rick Astley’s performance on Saturday afternoon was also energetic.
His debut at the festival did not disappoint performing his 80s classics like “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
His performance was also dominated by covers of AC DC and Harry Styles, where he also showed off his drumming skillset.
Guns N Roses also rolled back the years for Saturday night’s performance.
Additionally, Lana Del Rey was the headline act on Saturday, but her performance was jarred with issues.
She arrived more than 30 minutes late and lip synced most of her songs.
Her hair had to be done on stage and her act was cut short ending the night with an acapella version of Video Games.
Sunday was about one man: Elton John.
This was the acclaimed musician’s final live performance on home soil, part of his farewell tour.
His performance on the main pyramid stage was absolute perfection with a setlist of some of his most legendary songs.
The crowd also understood the assignment with many dressing in replicas of John’s famous costumes.
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Rina Sawayama and Jacob Lusk joined him on stage.
