Here is a lost of some of the craziest things actors have done for their movie roles.

These actors have went to great lengths to be the best they can be for their roles.

While preparing for Gangs Of New York, Daniel Day Lewis learned to speak Czech, build a canoe, learned to box, refuse to bathe, live in a shack, and listen to Eminem.

He also stayed in character as Lincoln even while using his phone.

Joaquin Phoenix

One of the craziest things he has done was for the film The Master.

Phoenix played a man with a deeply clenched jaw, and so he paid a dentist to add in brackets and rubber bands to his teeth in order for his jaw to stay shut.

He claimed that he also blacked out each time he did the scene.

Robert Pattinson

When it came time to play a dirty and despicable bank robber for Good Time, Robbert Pattinson did just that.

Pattinson admitted that he managed to freak out his neighbours during this time.

actors

Robert De Niro

To prepare for his roles, Robert De Niro has done a number of unnecessary things.

For Taxi Driver, he once worked as a cab driver for a month.

He spent several months living in Sicily in preparation for his role as Vito Corleone in The Godfather: Part II.

These aren’t even the craziest things he’s done.
