During the press conference that took place earlier today, President of ASA, Karl Izzo has released multiple announcements for the upcoming year for water polo and aquatic sports in Malta.
The ENEMED CUP
The two have promised that their collaboration will bring about more positive initiatives.
The entire program will be held at The National Pool Complex in Kottonera.
In recent years, The National Pool Complex has become a platform for young Maltese athletes providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to excel in their chosen sport.
Currently, 16 talented Maltese water polo players are set to represent Malta by competing abroad.
The Len Challenger Water Polo Cup
Under the leadership of coach Milan Cirovic, the national team, proudly bearing the name “Valletta Malta,” is ready to showcase their talent and determination.
Over the past few weeks, the team has been tirelessly training, putting in hours both during the day and night.
This dedication is a reflection of their commitment to success and a testament to their passion for the sport.
The LEN Challenger Water Polo Cup is scheduled to take place from the 19th to the 22nd of October.
During this time, Malta will host teams from Lithuania, Finland, and Bulgaria, providing an international stage for both men and women’s water polo teams to showcase their skills and compete.
One exciting aspect of this event is that it will be free for all to attend, contributing to the inclusive spirit of water polo.
International Competitions.
Malta’s commitment to water polo extends beyond national borders.
The ASA collaborates with Malta Tourism Authority and Sport Malta to put Malta on the global water polo map.
This year, Malta is hosting an array of international teams, including Serbia, Montenegro, Holland, Italy, and France, for the Malta Water Polo Christmas Cup in the men’s division.
These international competitions provide local and foreign teams with invaluable opportunities to prepare for the European Championships.
European Championship will be held in Israel in 2024 were Malta has been placed in Group C alongside Serbia, Germany and Israel.
The competition will take place between 3rd and 16th January 2024 in Netanya, Israel.
We are sure to witness some incredible talent, fierce competition, and a shared passion for this remarkable sport.
