A new year means exciting things to look forward to but also some exciting movies to hype about.
Prepare the popcorn, write down on the calendar, here are the most anticipated movies to watch in 2024.
Mean Girls
Tina Fey returns to the Mean Girls world 20 years after the popularity of the original.
This version scheduled for a January 12th release adapts the Broadway musical based on Tina Fey’s book.
The same plot follows; Cindy Heron gets welcomed by the “Plastics” girls in her new high school and navigates through the social hierarchy.
Dune Part Two
The sequel to Dennis Villeneuve’s adaptation of one of sci-fi’s bestseller books will continue Paul Atreides’s journey.
He joins Chani and the fremen to seek revenge for his family’s destruction and to prevent a bleak future.
It will begin right where the first left off so make sure to watch the latter before this launches on March 1st.

A young girl named Bea acquires the ability to see imaginary friends that were abandoned by children that they helped.
Bea then discovers that her neighbor played by Ryan Reynolds has the same ability.
This fantasy comedy is directed by John Krasinski (Jim from The Office) and will get a May 17th release.
Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes
300 years after Caesar’s reign led the apes take over earth, a young chimpanzee named Noa embarks on a journey with a human.
He wants to learn everything he was taught in the past that leads to choices which will define a future for apes and humans.
The next installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise will be out on May 24th.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
The fifth installment of George Miller’s Mad Max franchise that serves as a spin-off and prequel to Fury Road will also launch on May 24th.
Anya Taylor Joy plays Imperator Furiosa which will be her origin story before her encounter with Max.
She is trapped by a biker horde and finds herself in total mayhem and has to return home.
Inside Out 2
Pixar’s upcoming movie on June 14th will be a sequel to one of their greatest hits in recent memory.
It will see the return of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust who are emotions inside Riley’s head who is now a teenager.
A new emotion enters the fray, Anxiety and from the looks of it, she is not alone!
Deadpool 3
Ryan Reynolds’s third outing as the merc with the mouth looks like his most exciting adventure yet.
It will see Deadpool join forces with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
This will be the only MCU movie in 2024 when it’s out on July 26th.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Eddie Murphy is back as Axel Foley 30 years after his last appearance as the police detective.
Beverly Hills Cop Axel F will see Axel investigate corruption inside the police department with his daughter and ex-boyfriend.
It will hit Netflix in the summer next year.
Joker Folie a Deux
Todd Phillips’ follow-up to his highly successful and gritty take on Batman’s arch nemesis will reportedly be a musical, yes you read that right!
Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker will return as the character and be joined by Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn.
It is scheduled for release later next year on October 4th.
Gladiator 2
Ridley Scott returns to Ancient Rome for the sequel to one of the most spectacular historical epics of our time.
Gladiator 2 is still in pre-production and will finish filming in March, some taking place on our islands.
It will focus on Lucius, Commodus’ nephew played by Paul Mescal.
It will enter cinemas on November 22nd and everyone will certainly be entertained.
