We all know The Simpsons.
For decades, that yellow cartoon family from Spingfrield graced our television screens.
They are also famous for having the ability to predict things that appear quite close to reality.
2024 is no exception, so let’s see what they predict from their crystal ball this time.
Artificial Intelligence Takeover
In “Them Robot” Homer loses his job as Mr Burns his employer replaces every human employee with robots.
Artificial intelligence is a topic that will continue to dominate the industry in 2024.
Layoffs have occurred across several sectors around the globe.
Virtual Reality Food
In an episode from its 11th season, Homer and Marge eat virtual fudge through a straw located at the back of their VR headsets.
This seems impossible in our lives but VR dining is on the rise and implemented by VR companies like AeroBanquets RMX.
Baby Translator
Understanding a baby’s crying is every parent’s dream
Way back in the third season’s 24th episode, Homer’s brother Herb creates a baby translator.
This seems impossible but The Simpsons makes it possible.
What’s even more amazing is that a Swiss company named Zoundream has just created a machine that translates a baby’s voice.
Holograms
Holograms are another technology piece that sees more advancements yearly.
It is used to revisit the past and can be beneficial if they are proven to do that and tested.
Bart uses one in an episode where he receives a message to invite his band to a gig at a club.
Hoverboard cars
Although unrealistic on paper, flying cars are something everyone wants to see.
They aren’t just cool but also beat traffic in a flash.
One episode saw Bart and Homer travel in their future-flying vehicle.
A company named Samson Sky is set to begin delivery service with their switchblade delivery car this year believe it or not.
A Female President
Lisa becomes the first female president of the United States of America at 38 in the “BART To The Future” episode.
Vice President Kamala Harris is believed to be the next president this year with her dramatic rise in her political career over the recent years.
Donald Trump’s Presidential Run
To continue on the subject of the US presidency, Donald Trump announced his candidacy to become president for the second time.
During the “BART to the Future” episode, Homer flies around a sign titled “Trump 2024.”
The episode was aired in 2015 which was a year before Trump became president for the first time.
Black Holes
The power of black holes was hilariously covered during the 2013 Treehouse of Horror Halloween episode.
The holes trap Springfield except Maggie.
India’s recent rocket launch will promise new discoveries about black holes.
World War 3
Homer uses several pranks on his family during a special episode of The Tracey Ullman Show.
The pranks were about Homer pretending World War 3 would happen.
The episode aired in 1987, before The Simpsons had their own show.
In 2024, the chances of war keep increasing with what is happening in the likes of Gaza and Ukraine which is very sad to see.
Zombie Apocalypse
In the 2009 Treehouse of Horror episode, Krusty The Klown’s fast food sandwich turns Springfield into aggressive zombies in 28 days.
An apocalypse of this sort is something we see in many movies and the chances of this happening are extremely unlikely.
However, a recent story featured a zombie virus rediscovered in the permafrost.
