Malta Rugby Championship: Kavallieri and Wolves Dominate
Kavallieri Triumph Over Stompers 45-7
Kavallieri easily defeated Stompers 45-7. Despite an early injury, Kavallieri quickly took control. Erik Canova and Jethro Zammit Randich scored early tries. Stompers responded with a try from Jean Scholey, but Kavallieri’s strong forwards and defense kept the pressure on. Antoine Barbet’s try made it 19-7 at halftime.
In the second half, Kavallieri continued to dominate. Evan Demicoli, David Namusasi, and Zammit Randich (twice) scored tries. Stompers’ forwards and backs tried hard, but couldn’t break through Kavallieri’s defense. Zammit Randich’s conversions sealed the 45-7 win.
Wolves Crush Overseas 50-5 in Second Half Surge
Wolves remained dominant over Overseas, winning 50-5. Overseas played better in the first half, but Wolves stepped up their game in the second. Hamish Bolt’s try started a surge, followed by tries from Mikel Dominguez, Axel Jeffers, Federico Diaz, and Bolt again. Overseas scored one try from Stephen Fotso, but Wolves’ strong performance and Overseas’ defensive struggles led to a 50-5 victory.
The women’s teams, University of Malta Wolves, defeated Stompers 10-7 and 43-0, while the Falcons lost to UM Wolves 20-24.
