Eurovision’s biggest Maltese fan, Valentina Rossi, has kindly handed over her 10 favourite tracks of the Eurovision Song Contest this year!
That’s right! We asked one of Malta’s biggest Eurovision fans and our very own Rossi to hand over her favourite 10 tracks of the year ahead of the contest in Turin in less than 2 weeks now!
It was a struggle for The Drive Vibe presenter because she couldn’t reduce the list to just 10 songs and found it extremely difficult to keep some of her other favourite tracks off this list…
10 🇳🇴 NORWAY – Give That Wolf A Banana
THIS IS FUN! I love everything about it! I dare you to try and not dance or move to this, YOU WON’T MANAGE! Will it qualify? Definitely, will it win? NO or else that’s what I think. I really do hope they reveal who’s singing though as I’m sure the wolves are just dancers and maybe the space DJ is the singer.. Still made it on my top ten and looking forward to this performance. YUM YUM!
9 🇫🇮 FINLAND – Jezebel
YES! YES! YES! It’s expected to see some rock vibes after last year’s Maneskin victory but I would have never expected this comeback. I hope their vocals and staging will be on point because I doubt it will qualify otherwise…
8 🇨🇿 CZECH REPUBLIC – Lights Off
I haven’t stopped listening to this song because I love the energy and it’s very current but I’ve seen some of her live performances and her voice is not as strong as it sounds in the song. Let’s hope they qualify but I don’t have high hopes that they will do super well in the finals! STILL A BOP to listen to though!
7 🇺🇦 UKRAINE – Stefania
I’m so happy to see Ukraine participating this year with everything that has been happening this year! This track is honestly better than the song they were originally going to participate with so THANK GOD! Love the vibe and it’s good to have some rap in there too because we don’t hear it much in Eurovision!
6 🇦🇱 ALBANIA – Sekret
This has Eurovision written all over it. She’s such a vibe and will definitely be one of the favourites this year!
5 🇧🇪 BELGIUM – Miss You
This is so underrated! His voice is great, and the song is so beautiful. I think he’s going to have simple staging but I hope he qualifies to perform on the 14th because he truly deserves it.
4 🇪🇸 SPAIN – SloMo
I really like this! It’s so current and the singer was born to perform! We get to see everything from good vocals, heavy dancing and I have a feeling that we’re going to get some killer staging along with HOT outfits too!
3 🇦🇺 AUSTRALIA – Not The Same
A beautiful song from start to finish. A talented singer with a voice that makes you stop whatever it is you’re doing to listen to it peacefully. You can’t even munch on crisps while listening to this, OK? It will definitely do well in the final!
2 🇮🇹 ITALY – Brividi
These two know they’re going to do well this May. They haven’t been participating in any Eurovision tours sadly, so we did not get to see them performing their song live like we did with other entries. Their song is beautiful, and their voices blend so well together. They give me the chills. A favourite for sure!
1 🇬🇧 UNITED KINGDOM – Space Man
Although it’s not your typical winning song, I can totally see the UK taking the trophy home with this one! He has one the best voices to hear on the night, hands down! His live performances are always effortless and he’s just beautiful to look at… I can’t lie!
You might be thinking why Malta hasn’t been mentioned…
🇲🇹 MALTA – I Am What I Am
Emma’s song is catchy and very easy to sing along to and that’s what people like about it. It’s an anthem. She’s beautiful and vocally talented, if not, some of the best vocals in this year’s contest. Is it strong enough to make it to the final though? We’ll have to see what surprises she has planned for us including her outfit and staging. I’ve read some posts that mention a HUGE prop to be used on stage for Malta! We’ll definitely share the gossip with you as soon as we get it.
