On Wednesday, 6th August, Vibe FM is heading to the Malta International Food Festival with one sizzling mission: to build the tallest Maltese sausage tower ever made. That’s right, we’re stacking Malta’s most iconic sausage sky-high in an attempt to break a record and make food history.
But we’re not just doing it for the hype, we’re doing it for a good cause. After the record attempt, all the sausage will be cooked fresh on-site and sold during the same event, with 100% of proceeds going to Dar tal-Providenza.
This wouldn’t be possible without the support of London Butcher Mosta.
London Butcher will be providing approximately 60-70 kg of Maltese Sausage!
So you can take part, have a laugh, and give back, all while enjoying that signature zalzett tal-Malti flavour.
What Is Maltese Sausage Day?
You might’ve heard about it… But did you know Vibe FM actually started Maltese Sausage Day?
We created this delicious national day to celebrate one of Malta’s greatest local food icons: the zalzett tal-Malti. Spicy, garlicky, peppery, and full of flavour the Maltese sausage deserves its own moment in the spotlight. And we gave it one.
Since its launch, Maltese Sausage Day has become a summer highlight, giving the zalzett its moment of fame and uniting food lovers across the island. This year, we’re turning it up a notch with the biggest stunt yet, a sausage tower like Malta’s never seen before.
Why the Maltese Sausage Deserves a Day
The Maltese sausage isn’t just food; it’s tradition. Whether grilled at a family BBQ, crumbled into a plate of pasta, or stuffed into a ftira, it’s bold, rustic, and proudly local.
