Local NGO WEEE Malta have launched the “Vape Drop” Campaign.
The Vape Drop Campaign is running to coincide with the European Week of Waste Reduction (EWWR) from the 18th to 26th November 2023.

The correct disposal of single use vapes is the focus of this campaign.
These vapes are dangerous to Malta’s naturally picturesque landscapes.
Each vape has lithium batteries that are hazardous to fire in waste facilities.
They also are very risky in seeping toxic chemicals into the environment when they are disposed of poorly.
The campaign will also emphasize a strategy on the importance of recycling.
Promoting the message, “Use the bin, let’s all win,” recycling bins will be provided in local stores.
WEEE Malta is using AI to highlight the negative effects of incorrect vape disposal.
Through a collaboration with Growth Bully they combined social media and AI imagery to demonstrate the difference between Malta’s natural beauty and vape littering’s potential destruction.
Looking at these will surely make us think twice before we dispose of our single use vapes!
