Lee sat down with Sam Ryder who is representing the UK in Eurovision.
Sam Ryder is heading to the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Spaceman’. He is an English singer and songwriter who began his career in the hard rock and metal circuits, fronting groups like Morning After and Blessed by a Broken Heart before starting a solo career as a pop artist. Then Eurovision happened!
Sam admits Eurovision was not what he was thinking about when he wrote ‘Spaceman’ one and a half years ago. He was always a fan and he always considered the Eurovision as something that he would simply watch but never be a part of. But what about the Malta connection to the track?
Dan Grech, a British born Maltese, helped with post production and mixing of the song for finalization for the Eurovision. This allowed the song to have this vibrant and energetic poppy feel to it which makes it an assured Summer Hit for the years ahead.
Lee, who hosts The Chart Show on Vibe FM every Friday also spoke to “sexy Jesus” (as he likes to call him) about man-buns, skydiving and Tik Tok.
What are Sam’s favourite entries from this year, alongside Emma Muscat (of course)? Check out the full interview to find out!
