The Formula One season has already decided its world and constructors champion, Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing respectively.
However, we have still got two races remaining on the calendar and this week marks the much anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Twenty drivers will drive around the Sin City’s strip near multiple casinos and prestigious hotels.
It will be the third and final race in the United States this season with the previous two held in Miami and Texas.
This also marks the second time F1 has touched down in Las Vegas.
It has been 41 years since the last time an F1 race was held there, so what’s changed?
The race was held in 1981 and 1982 at the Ceasars Palace car park.
The circuit had many corners boxed into short spaces which proved challenging for drivers to overtake.
As a result of this weekend’s race, there will be several opportunities for overtaking as well as a very long straight line speed.
The location was also a massive problem as it took place without the glitz and famous monuments the state is known for.
This year’s race will not only let the drivers race around the likes of Ceasar’s Palace and the Bellagio but it will also be held during the night.
The heated temperatures were a health risk for drivers as many suffered from exhaustion.
It was the same fate for Alan Jones and Michele Alboreto, the two winners of both races.
Qatar’s Grand Prix this year also saw a similar feat with some drivers feeling sick.
This year it will not only take place during nighttime but temperatures are set to drop below 5°C
Teams will have to think long and hard about their pit stop set up as the tires’ lack of warmth will be key.
Since its announcement there has been some criticism due to the emphasis on money and expensive ticket prices.
However, there’s no denying that there has been a lot of hype and promotion.
Around 100,000 people will witness the action unfold, surpassing the previous event.
Qualiifying and the race will be an early wake up call for F1 fans alike.
Qualiifying will be held this Saturday at 09:00 whilst the race is at 07:00 the following day on TSN 1.
