ŻfinMalta is about to present its first ever co-production at Teatru Manoel this May!
ŻfinMalta teams up with Ballet d’Jèrri, Jersey’s national dance company, in an exciting new work by ŻfinMalta Artistic Director Paolo Mangiola.
Twenty dancers explore what unites their islands through distinct geographical and cultural landscapes.
Inspired by the Arctic Tern, “Geographers of Solitude” examines diversity, the fragility of voices, and collective harmony.
As these birds find refuge on both islands, dancers navigate the interplay between solitude and community, reflecting on individual and shared stories.
The collaboration began with Ballet d’Jèrri’s Artistic Director Carolyn Rose Ramsey inviting Mangiola to create a piece for Jersey’s new dance company.
Premiering in Malta in May 2024 and Jersey in June 2024, this co-production bridges landscapes, cultures, and stories.
For their fans, this is the last chance to see Mangiola’s choreography at Teatru Manoel before he concludes his tenure.
Mangiola reflects on the journey, expressing immense pride and gratitude for the collective achievements and growth of ŻfinMalta.
The show is going to run on the 24th, 25th and 26th May. Get your tickets from Teatru Manoel’s page.
