THE GREAT DICTATOR – A Theatrical Adaptation of Charlie Chaplin’s Iconic Film.
This is your chance to audition for the captivating stage adaptation of THE GREAT DICTATOR!
This production is brought to life by director Malcolm Galea, with movement direction handled by Moritz Zavan Stoeckle.
The show is set to succeed, thanks to Nikolai Azzopardi’s brilliant production skills.
Auditions for this production are scheduled for December 2nd starting at 9AM at M Space.

THE GREAT DICTATOR is a gripping narrative that follows the journey of a young Barber who, having lost his memory in a devastating war, returns to his normal life and occupation.
He is shocked to see that the country he served now persecutes his own people, all because of a belligerent dictator.
This adaptation has a unique twist as both the Barber and the Dictator are portrayed by the same performer!
This expressed the duality of individuals being capable of both immense evil and unwavering courage.
With the support of loyal allies and newfound friends, the Barber staunchly resists his oppressors until a stroke of fortune grants him the opportunity to share his values with the world.
In this thrilling production, all performers will take on multiple roles, adding depth and complexity to the story.
The cast includes a range of intriguing characters:
- Barber / Hynkel (20-40 M): A charismatic and righteous barber and also an insecure despot.
- Hannah / Other Female Roles (20-30 F): A courageous young woman and also an agent serving under Hynkel.
- Jacob / Herring (40-60 M): An elderly Jew and a buffoonish war minister.
- Schultz / Garbitsch (20-40 M): An honourable war hero and a devious propaganda minister.
- Napoleoni / Misc (30-40 M): A larger-than-life dictator and miscellaneous male roles like soldiers and Jews.
- Cook / Misc (F): A no-nonsense cook and miscellaneous male and female roles like soldiers and friends.
