Director Dery Sultana Returns to Malta to Showcase Film on Stolen Childhoods
Following its 2023 Maltese premiere and a recent win at the German International Film Festival 2024, “Who Would You Tell?” is coming to Gozo for a special Q&A screening with director Dery Sultana.
The documentary tells the heartbreaking story of three Maltese brothers separated from their family and sent to Australia under a child migration scheme.
Promised a better life, their experience turned into a nightmare of abuse and neglect.
Sultana uses interviews, archival materials, and expert commentary to navigate the brothers’ journey of trauma and the historical failures of the scheme.
The Gozo premiere includes a Q&A session with Sultana at the Citadel Cinema in Victoria on Friday, June 21st, followed by additional screenings on Saturday, June 22nd, and Sunday, June 23rd.
