Four student startups are ready to pitch for €10,000 and the chance to represent Malta in Europe.
Get ready, Malta — a wave of fresh startups business ideas is hitting the stage. The JA Malta StartUp Programme 2025 is back, and the finals are just around the corner!
Last weekend, EY Malta hosted the semi-finals. Nine impressive teams pitched their ideas, each hoping to earn a spot in the finals. Now, just four startups remain.

These teams impressed the judges with their originality, passion, and potential. They come from local institutions like St. Martin’s Institute and the University Degree Plus Programme. Their success shows how much talent is growing across Malta’s student community.
What’s Next?
The final event takes place on May 24th at Sir Temi Zammit Hall. Each team will pitch their idea live in front of a panel of experts. The winner will be crowned Startup of the Year, while the winner of the ESG Sustainability award will receive a €10,000 grant to launch their startup.
Even better? They’ll go on to represent Malta at the Gen-E Online Awards, Europe’s largest event for young entrepreneurs.

Why the Programme Matters
The JA Malta StartUp Programme is more than just a competition. It’s a real-world experience for young adults aged 18 to 30. Participants take part in workshops, bootcamps, and mentoring sessions. They learn how to validate an idea, build a pitch, and launch a business.
This is all part of JA Malta’s mission to prepare young people for the future. A member of JA Worldwide, recently nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, JA Malta is focused on building skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and job readiness.
