Malta is officially hosting its first-ever Unconference!
From November 10 to 21, 2025, Culture at Work is aiming to create a discussion around the influence that culture has on your life. Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA) is organising the event, making use of various locations, with the main event taking place at Teatru Salesjan.
The conference is uniting over 45 local and international speakers from the arts, education, and research to discuss how creative work can have a positive impact.
Speakers feature representatives from Culture Action Europe, EIT Culture & Creativity, Futurecity, IETM, MOMENTUM Berlin, Iceland Film Commission, and a Netflix Film Director, alongside leading Maltese figures such as Tenor Joseph Calleja and designer Jonathan Mizzi.
They will be hosting workshops, speaking on panels and delivering keynotes. Topics around current conditions in the workforce, sustainability, creative business ventures and well-being practices can be expected. Culture at Work organises its conference unlike anything Malta’s seen before. Anyone attending will find that the conference celebrates collaboration, open dialogue and welcomes participation.
A Look Into What’s Happening
Day 1 kicks off at the MICAS with a motivating keynote and discussion titled: “Why Creativity Matters Now More Than Ever.” It’s about how creativity is a powerful tool for society, builds resilience, and can radically change what we value. Get ready to have your perspectives inspired right from the start!

Day 2 includes a mix of 8 workshops and discussions happening in various locations around Malta. Taking part in studios, galleries and theatres, the priority is to show how diverse creativity can be. It will also highlight the intersectionality of the field with other areas. Participants are diving into topics cantered around design, collaborative work and even the ethics of artistic production across various media.

Day 3 brings everyone participating together at Teatru Salesjan. The discussions focus on building structures that are ideal for creativity and professional growth. This is done while keeping in mind the connection between art, technology and society.
