Every Tallinja journey on the day will support the Malta Community Chest Fund.
On Saturday, 20 December 2025, hopping on a bus won’t just get you from A to B — it’ll also help support one of Malta’s most important causes.
Malta Public Transport is once again teaming up with the Office of the President for the ninth edition of Tallinja għal L-Istrina, an initiative that raises funds for L-Istrina and the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).

How does it work?
It’s simple.
For every passenger journey made on the day, Malta Public Transport will make a donation to the MCCF. This includes trips taken under the free public transport scheme, meaning every single ride counts.
Chairman of Malta Public Transport, Felipe Cosmen, encouraged the public to get involved by choosing the bus on the day:
“Using the bus on 20 December is an easy, collective act that can translate into real help for families who rely on the efforts of MCCF. We are proud to support the Office of the President and the MCCF in the best way we can.”
A long-standing commitment
Since the initiative first launched in 2016, Malta Public Transport has already donated over €336,000 to the Malta Community Chest Fund — showing how small actions, when multiplied, can make a big difference.
So whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends, or just popping out for a coffee, choose the bus on 20 December and be part of something bigger.
