At just 24 years old, Alister Camilleri has done it again. For the second year running, the Maltese hybrid athlete has qualified for the Hyrox World Championships, heading to Stockholm this June to represent Malta in the PRO Solo category.
The 0.5% Achievement
This year’s qualification was Alister’s toughest challenge yet, as the sport explodes globally, the window for the World Championships has narrowed from the top 1% of athletes last season to a tough top 0.5% this year. Earning a spot in this exclusive group puts Alister’s status as one of the finest functional athletes.

Holistic Preparation
For Alister, the “PRO” label isn’t just about the physical part. He is currently deep in a preparation phase that balances the physical with the mental and spiritual.
“Time to get to work,” Alister says. “To get stronger mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to be up against the big dogs once again.”
While his Solo PRO spot is secured, Alister isn’t finished. He is currently pushing for a double qualification, aiming to represent Malta in the Doubles category as well.
With a nation behind him and a relentless work ethic, Alister is proving that for those willing to put in the work, the world stage is exactly where they belong.
