Young Maltese performers Daniele Cardona and Francesca Gauci have been selected to join the prestigious Junior Theatre Festival International All Stars cohort in 2027.
More than 200 performers auditioned during the Junior Theatre Festival in Birmingham, with only 30 students worldwide chosen for the programme. Just eight of those selected are from Europe, including Daniele and Francesca, who will represent Malta on the international stage.

The pair will participate in an intensive 11-day programme across New York City and Atlanta. Their itinerary includes group training with leading industry professionals, specialist workshops and preparation for a 15-minute adjudication performance as part of an international group.
Their journey will conclude at the Junior Theatre Festival Atlanta, where they will perform before an audience of around 7,000 attendees—their biggest stage to date.

Daniele, 14, has trained in performing arts for nine years and earned a distinction in Trinity Grade 5 in May 2026. Francesca, 17, has trained for 16 years and achieved a distinction in Trinity Grade 7 that same year.
As both performers must travel with adult chaperones, they are seeking financial support to help cover flights, accommodation, tuition, workshops and related expenses. Every contribution will help Daniele and Francesca take Malta’s talent to the world stage.
