What if happiness could be measured, monitored and optimised? That’s the question behind DROGI, a new original music-theatre production by The Busker, coming to Teatru Salesjan, Sliema, on 14 November 2026.
Directed by Sean Borg, the show combines music, theatre, humour and social satire to explore our relationship with pleasure, dependency and the search for fulfilment.

Set in a fictional dystopian world facing a supposed “Dopamine Drought”, DROGI introduces audiences to the Dopa-Meter. Developed by the fictional corporation B-Corp, the device claims to measure a person’s dopamine levels — and, ultimately, their happiness.
But what happens when happiness becomes a number?

Through the stories of three individuals, the production explores the everyday “highs” people chase, from relationships and success to validation, attention, consumption and excitement. It asks whether these pursuits can become our own forms of “drugs”.
Despite its provocative title, DROGI focuses on the things people repeatedly turn to in the hope of feeling good, rather than recreational substances.

Featuring music from The Busker’s upcoming album, Something in My Head, the performance blends autobiographical and fictional storytelling with theatrical humour and moments of vulnerability.
Audiences are invited to reflect on their own “drogi”: the things they chase, consume or depend upon, and whether the next high can truly bring lasting happiness.

Doors open at 7:30 PM, with the performance starting at 8:30 PM.
