A special day by the sea gave Elsie the chance to enjoy one of the activities she loves most.
Elsie was given an unforgettable surprise as part of the latest episode of Marelli, when she returned to the sea for a special swimming experience together with Michelle Muscat.
Despite facing mobility difficulties, Elsie has always had a strong love for swimming and spending time by the sea.
The team behind Marelli and ALS Malta therefore organised a day dedicated to giving her the opportunity to enjoy the water once again.
From the moment she discovered the surprise, Elsie’s reaction showed how much the experience meant to her.
With the support and encouragement of those around her, she entered the sea, swam and enjoyed a moment of freedom away from the challenges she faces in her daily life.
The episode highlights how an experience that may appear simple can have a meaningful impact on someone’s quality of life.
It also showcases the work carried out by ALS Malta and DAR Bjorn, which provide specialised care and support to people living with neurological conditions.
ALS Malta is now encouraging the public to support its national fundraising telethon, Tinsinix, taking place on Sunday, 30 August.
Funds raised during the telethon will help DAR Bjorn continue providing residents and their families with specialised care, equipment, support and a better quality of life.
The public is encouraged to follow Tinsinix on 30 August and make a donation in aid of DAR Bjorn.
Every donation, regardless of its size, can help make a difference.
