The BOV Volleyball Marathon is expanding its programme this year with the launch of a brand-new 5K Run.
Giving the public another exciting opportunity to take part in one of Malta’s biggest fundraising events in support of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
Organised in collaboration with Eurosport and Garmin Malta, the 5K Run will take place on Saturday 18th July, with the race starting at 6:30am. Participants can register through sabihlitaghti.org/5k.

The race will start and finish just outside the MFCC North Entrance in Ta’ Qali, placing runners at the heart of the BOV Volleyball Marathon as it reaches its thrilling conclusion. Crossing the finish line, participants will be welcomed by the vibrant atmosphere created by volleyball players, volunteers, supporters and spectators gathered for the final day of the marathon.
The 5K run offers Malta’s running community the chance to support Id-Dar tal-Providenza while encouraging the athletes taking part in the marathon’s remarkable 53-hour endurance challenge. Whether aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying a community run, every participant will be contributing to raising awareness for a cause that has touched countless lives.
The BOV Volleyball Marathon takes place between Thursday 16th and Saturday 18th July at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. For more than five decades, the event has united athletes, volunteers and the wider community in support of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, making it one of Malta’s most anticipated annual fundraising initiatives.
The addition of the 5K Run further strengthens the marathon weekend, offering another way for people of all ages and fitness levels to get involved in a celebration of sport, community spirit and generosity. With every stride helping to support a worthy cause, organisers are encouraging runners to lace up their trainers and be part of an unforgettable weekend.
