Supporting Hospice, One Battery At A Time!

Every battery counts!

GreenPak together with Project Green, have announced the relaunch of the environmental and charity-driven campaign ‘Batteries for Hospice’  after last year’s success.

The purpose of the competition is to increase the collection and recycling of spent batteries, whilst also supporting Hospice Malta’s mission to deliver the highest standards in palliative care to its patients.

The competition invites all local schools to participate!

Present for the launch in Ta’ Qali was Kenneth Delia, Chief Executive Officer of Hospice Malta, Steve Ellul, Chief Executive Officer of Project Green and Ing. Mario Schembri, Chief Executive Officer of GreenPak.

Kenneth Delia CEO of Hospice Malta, thanked GreenPak for supporting Hospice once again by launching this initiative.

“It is through such support from organisations and individuals, their willingness and altruism to support towards fund-raising events such as this, which helps Hospice continue with our work, to support over 1,300 patients and their families every year.”

He continued by saying that no matter how big or small, every donation will make a difference and allows Hospice to continue providing palliative care services at no cost to the patient.

The CEO of GreenPak, Ing. Mario Schembri, said the campaign aims to promote recycling and environmental awareness in schools while encouraging them to help charities like Hospice.

“All schools in Malta have been invited to take up the challenge and participate in ‘Batteries for Hospice’. The challenge is simple: to encourage all participating schools to collect the highest number of batteries. The bigger the collection, the larger the donation to Hospice will be,”

CEO of Project Green, Steve Ellul, explained that by educating children, we are fostering a change in the mentality of the future generations, so they become more aware of the environment.

Ellul announced that as a prize, trees and bushes will be provided to the schools collecting the most batteries.

He explained that since children spend most of their time at school, it is important for them to have a better quality of life by spending time in a nicer and healthier environment.

GreenPak will announce the results of the competition when the campaign ends on 15th June 2023.

The winning school will receive an eco-friendly prize sponsored by Project Green.

Certificates will also be awarded.
