Five teams have booked their place in the 360 Sports Malta Premier Top Six following last weekend’s latest round of matches while Marsaxlokk, Ħamrun Spartans and Gżira United are set for a sprint to the finish line for the final spot available.

Balzan FC (0 – 1) Hibernians FC
The Paolites produced a resilient performance against a Balzan side who were left to rue missing a string of scoring chances.
But in the end it was a goal by substitute Miullen that earned the Paolites the three points that rubberstamped their place in the Top Six.
Melita FC (1 – 2) Mosta FC
Mosta scored two goals in the first half on their way to a 2-1 win over Melita.
Sunday Okereke and Nathan Agius grabbed the goals for Mosta that assured them they will not finih lower than fifth place at the end of the opening stage.
Ħamrun Spartans FC (2 – 3) Marsaxlokk FC
Marsaxlokk kept alive their Top Six hopes with a thrilling 3-2 win over Ħamrun Spartans.
Yuri Messias put them ahead but the Malta champions courtesy of a penalty from Joseph Mbong.
Messias restored Marsaxlokk’s lead from another penalty and Jai Quintongo added a third.
A goal by substitute Gabriel Vella proved futile for the Spartans who suffered their fourth successive defeatand are in danger of missing out on a Top Six berth.
Gżira United FC (3 – 1) Żabbar St. Patrick FC
Gżira United moved three points clear of Ħamrun and Marsaxlokk in sixth place when they beat Żabbar SP 3-1.
Alex Alves notched a brace and Gabriel Mentz added another to put the Maroons just a point away from a Top Six berth.
Birkirkara FC (1 – 0) Naxxar Lions FC
Elsewhere Birkirkara made it nine wins in a row with a 1-0 win over Naxxar Lions, with Maxuell Maia netting the winner.
Floriana FC (0 – 1) Sliema Wanderers FC
Floriana and Sliema Wanderers took a point each in a drab Old Firm derby.
