The nominees for this year’s Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday, 15 November.
The 65th Grammy Awards will take place on 5 February in Los Angeles.
Beyonce and Adele are facing off with their nominations in major categories: record of the year, song of the year and album of the year.
Beyonce broke the Jay-Z record for the most nominated artists bagging 9 nominations for this year’s edition!
The mega-superstar was nominated for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Song Written for Visual Media, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best Remixed Recording.
Adele is back as a Grammy contender for the first time since 2017. This time, she has earned seven nominations, for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video, and Best Music Film.
Lizzo is also nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal. She will also compete in Record of the year and Song of the year with her single ‘About Damn Time’
Harry Styles and Coldplay are in the running for best album.
Surprise nomination for Swedish pop legends Abba are also competing for Best Album.
Taylor Swift’s latest album, ‘Midnights’, was released too late to make to it the 2023 nominations.
While hugely successful, Meghan Thee Stallion has no nominations.
K-pop supergroup BTS make history as they earned three nominations.
It is the first time a seven-member South Korean boy band has been nominated in more than one Grammy category ever!
And are we still talking about Bruno? The answer is yes as Disney’s ‘Encanto’ and its popular song ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ were nominated in three of the four Music for Visual Media categories!
