Paul Zammit started his spell as Birkirkara coach in some style after thrashing Tarxien Rainbows 3-0.
Kemar Reid put them ahead early on before Brazilian defender Ronivan made it 2-0.
Jacques Bayo put the game beyond Tarxien’s reach before the Stripes wrapped up the win with late goals from Aleandro Garzia and Shaun Dimech.
Marsaxlokk FC (1 – 1) Sliema Wanderers FC
Marsaxlokk and Sliema Wanderers took a point each following a 1-1 draw.
Redon Mihana put the southerners ahead but Sliema managed to take a point with a second-half strike from Thiago Espindola.
Naxxar Lions FC (5 – 0) Mosta FC
Naxxar Lions secured an emphatic 5-0 win over neighbouring rivals Mosta.
Vitinho put Naxxar Lions ahead before Vinicium made it 2-0 soon after.
Joao Moura added a third goal just before half-time.
Mosta’s response never arrived and Naxxar wrapped up a crushing win with two late goals through Gabriel Costa and Louis Pahama.
