Just a few hours ago, Hollywood’s biggest night of the year took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 95th edition of the Academy Awards, also known as The Oscars.
On a night of surprises, Everything Everywhere All At Once ultimately dominated the show.
The chaotic multiverse film directed by the Daniel brothers won 7 out of the 11 awards it was nominated for including Best Picture and Director.
The film also won all the acting awards except one.
Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress beating the favourite Cate Blanchett. She also became the first Asian woman to win the award.
Jamie Lee Curtis won Best Supporting Actress over Angela Bassett and Kerry Condon respectively.
Ke Huy Quan won Best Supporting Actor, his first acting role in decades.
Prior to this, he acted in The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Brendan Fraser also confirmed his comeback by winning Best Actor playing the obese Charlie in The Whale.
All Quiet on the Western Front won awards for Best International Film, music score, production design and cinematography.
The German film set in WW1 tells the story of a young soldier who enlists in the army only to experience the harsh reality that comes with war.
Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun Maverick, the two biggest blockbusters of last year also took home some awards.
Avatar’s breathtaking visuals were enough to win the Best Visual Effects award.
Top Gun on the other hand won Best Sound.
Gulliermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio won Best Animated Movie.
The Indian film RRR won Best Song for Naatu Naatu.
