MCAST’s KampuSajf Returns With Three Days Of Creativity

The fourth edition of KampuSajf is set to return to the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts (ICA) Campus in Mosta from 6 to 8 August, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of contemporary art, music, theatre, film and live performance.

This year’s festival, titled Playgrounds for Emergence, explores how artistic ideas take shape through experimentation, collaboration and creative discovery. Curated by artistic directors Justin Galea and Elyse Tonna, the event will see classrooms, studios, gardens and outdoor spaces across the campus come alive with performances, workshops, installations and interdisciplinary projects. The festival is once again powered by APS Bank, marking the fourth consecutive year of its support.

Each evening offers a different programme, allowing audiences to experience the campus in a unique way while discovering both established Maltese artists and emerging creative talent.

Opening night on Thursday 6 August will feature Kabana by Reuse Collective, an interactive installation transforming the ICA gardens, alongside Julian Micallef’s workshop FDAL, an environmental film screening and discussion presented by ĊineAmbjent and Friends of the Earth Malta, before concluding with a live performance by Storm Petrelle, led by Marie Claire Gatt.

On Friday 7 August, the focus shifts to movement, theatre and performance. Highlights include Now You See Us, a site-specific dance performance by Rochelle Gatt and Luke Bugeja Gauci, Il-Kunsill tat-Triq, an energetic collaboration between Chewing Productions and 141 Records blending hip-hop, live music and theatre, followed by Teatru Malta’s production 5subien.com at the amphitheatre.

The festival concludes on Saturday 8 August with another workshop by Julian Micallef before an evening of live music featuring Ella Puci, the debut hip-hop and jazz collaboration Xugaman & DEM, the Live Mixtape concert by Ġiżimina, That BB and Child, and a closing DJ set by Marsela. Evening performances begin at 8pm each night.

KampuSajf also forms part of MCAST’s 25th anniversary celebrations, reflecting the College’s ongoing commitment to supporting creative practice while strengthening connections between students, artists and the wider community.

Tickets for individual nights and three-night passes are available through TicketLane, while the full programme can be viewed on the MCAST website.
